Our sightseeing recommendations in The Hague are:

  • Mauritshuis Museum, the core collection at this famous art museum consists of masterpieces from the Dutch Golden Age, which includes works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Steen and Frans Hals, including a magnificent panorama of Dutch and Flemish art from the fifteenth to the seventeenth century.
  • Madurodam, Madurodam, a miniature city with models of buildings (scale 1:25,) which provides the story of how a typical Dutch City has developed throughout the centuries.
  • Peace Palace (Vredespaleis), The Peace Palace in The Hague is home to a number of international judicial institutions and is accessible to the public through guided tours.
  • Mesdag Panorama, enormous cylinder-shaped painting of the old fishing village of Scheveningen in 1881.
  • Escher in Het Paleis (Escher in the Palace), this museum is next to Hotel Des Indes and is home to a vast collection of prints and drawings by the world-famous Dutch artist M. C. Escher. Escher is famous for his ability to take everyday subjects (i.e. stairs, animals, water, etc.) and twist them into fantastic, other-worldly compositions.
